The Badass Lens Of Doom

Big Ass MoonOn the way home from work I stopped at Henry’s and bought a new lens with my ill-gotten gain the cash I got for Christmas. It is huge, and when I say huge I mean it’s about a foot long and roughly five pounds, and when it’s attached to my little Nikon D32oo it makes the camera look like an afterthought. By the time I got home it was full dark, so I didn’t get a chance to really try it out, but I did take it out on the deck and got a pic of the moon. It’s, like, super moon, but without the fear of total planetary annihilation. I can’t wait to take it outside on New Years Day. Look out, chipmunks, here I come!

For the camera buffs, the camera used was the Nikon D3200 (ISO-3200, 1/4000, f/6.3) and the lens was the Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG HSM racked out to the full 500mm.

A Trip To The Zoo

Back in October I went to the Metro Toronto Zoo to take some pictures. Some didn’t turn out, because it’s hard to get good pics when you’re shooting through nose-smeared glass. But a few turned out really well, so I thought I’d share them here rather than let them sit on my hard drive and do nothing.

For the camera buffs, these were taken with my Nikon D200 and AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED, and are straight off the SD card.

Updated Cover

Alone in the Dark ecover deltaI just updated the cover on Alone In The Dark — the one and only story that I currently have available — and wanted to share it. My cover making skills have improved a great deal since I did the original cover, if I do say so myself, and I’m really happy to have it gone. Or at least I will be, once Kobo gets its lazy ass in gear and replaces the old one with the new.
